Symptoms

My Falco Pro Series DVR is displaying an HDD * Fail error message.

Solution

Before you are able to record, you will first need to format the hard drive. To do this, login to the Menu by first pressing the MENU button and then proceed to LOGIN.

By default, the Username is set to AA and the password is set to 11.

From the LOGIN screen press the LOGIN button.

Next, go to SETUP and then HDD. From the HDD screen press MODE to go into the HDD Format Setup screen.

Press the MODE button to begin HDD format. This will take several minutes.

Additional Steps

If the above steps do not solve your problem, it is likely that your HDD is defective. If this seems to be the case, contact our RMA department to receive an RMA number, and begin the swap-out process.
